Wolfram
We supply wolfram alloys for special applications, e.g. spark erosion electrodes, power switches for electrical discharge machining or other parts.
Wolfram have the highest melting point (3410oC) of the four common refractory metals. with a density of 19.3 gm/ cc, it is only surpassed by rhenium and osmium in weight. Wolfram has a long history of use for filaments in the lamp industry. The material have the best high-temperature strength of all the refractory metals. For this reason, it is used in very high temperature vacuum furnaces.
